On the heels of last week’s Grammy nominations came this week’s announcement of the 2014 Golden Globe nominees. Like The Grammys, The Golden Globe Awards reserve a section of awards for music in film.

The glaring omission of Buz Lurhmann’s The Great Gatsby is worth noting. While the Hollywood Foreign Press Association might have overlooked Lurhmann & his tour-de-force music supervision team Anton Masted, Darren Higman and Tony Seyler, we certainly have not. The film & its music were truly one of the high water marks for 2013.
