"Composer and lyricist Marc Shaiman will be honored with the Icon Award at the ninth annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards, taking place Feb. 13 at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles.

If you have yet to apply to be a member for the Guild of Music Supervisors, the deadline to apply and still be eligible to vote for this year's GMS Awards and receive a complimentary ticket to attend is Friday, January 25th, 2019. 

After the 25th, you are still able to apply to be a GMS member, but you will miss out on voting for this year's awards show and will have to pay for a full price ticket.

"The Guild of Music Supervisors has announced that Joel Sill will receive the organization’s Legacy Award for his contribution to music in film. Sill’s body of work includes “Forrest Gump,” “The Goonies,” “Blade Runner,” “The Color Purple” and “My Cousin Vinny.” He will be joined by Spotify’s RISE artist, King Princess, who will be performing as this year’s Spotlight Artist."

On Tuesday November 13th The Guild of Music Supervisors in NYC participated in a mixer with members of AMP (Association of Music Producers) at the rooftop bar of the swanky Hotel Chantrelle.

AMP represents both in house Advertising Music Producers/Supervisors as well as independents.

Members of both organizations got to meet and greet and figure out ways that the GMS and AMP can do more work together to represent for music supervisors
